UFC Vegas 68 headliners Derrick Lewis and Sergey Spivak

UFC Vegas 68 is set to take place Sunday, February 5 (in Australia) from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, headlined by a Heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Sergey Spivak. The two men were originally booked to headline the November 19 Fight Night before Lewis withdrew from the fight during the event.

The fight card was scheduled to be held in Seoul, South Korea but was moved the UFC APEX following an injury to ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung. The Korean Zombie was set to headline the UFC’s return to South Korea.

UFC Vegas 68 also features the finals of the Road to UFC series. The Road to UFC comprises four 8-person tournaments involving top Asian MMA prospects competing for a UFC contract. The quarterfinals and semifinals of the tournaments took place around UFC 275 in Singapore and UFC 281 in Abu Dhabi, respectively.

As the fight card predominantly features fighters from Asia, including Da Un Jung and the return of ‘The Korean Superboy’ Doo-Ho Choi, the event has a later start time to accommodate viewers from Asia. The special start time for the prelims is 2pm AEDT and 5pm AEDT for the main card. This means the main event will take place well past midnight local time.
