Since emerging on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017, O’Malley has become one of the UFC’s biggest stars, even without the Championships or achievements of many other fighters. On a five-fight undefeated streak, O’Malley enters his first title bout on the back of a controversial split decision victory over former Champion UFC Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan.

In the UFC 292 co-main event, UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Zhang Weili defends her title against Brazilian finisher Amanda Lemos. Zhang reclaimed the title last November with a dominant submission of Carla Esparza. Lemos enters her first title bout off the back of finishes of Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez.

The UFC 292 prelims also feature the finals of Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, coached by Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler. The Lightweight final features a pair of UFC veterans, Austin Hubbard and Kurt Holobaugh, who have both been impressive throughout the season. In the Bantamweight final, TUF 27 winner Brad Katona will look to become the first-ever two-time TUF Champion against Cody Gibson.
