UFC 289: Nunes vs. Aldana Fight Card and Start Times

UFC 289 takes place this weekend from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, headlined by a UFC Bantamweight Championship bout between Amanda Nunes and Irene Aldana. Find the entire UFC 289 fight card and start times below.

Amanda Nunes, the UFC Women’s Bantamweight and Featherweight Champion, will look to add to her outstanding record with another defence of her Bantamweight title. In a trilogy bout, Nunes was initially scheduled to defend her title against former Champion Julianna Peña. After losing to Pena in their first fight, Nunes bounced back in their rematch last July with a dominant performance to reclaim her title.

Challenging Nunes will be Mexican contender Irene Aldana, who was scheduled for a five-round title eliminator main event bout against Raquel Pennington before receiving the call-up to face Nunes instead. She hopes to become the fourth current Mexican UFC Champion and mirror what Alexa Grasso was able to do earlier this year when she defeated Valentina Shevchenko to claim the UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship.

The UFC 289 co-main event features a much-anticipated UFC Lightweight Championship title eliminator bout between former Champion Charles Oliveira and streaking contender Beneil Dariush. The two men were initially scheduled to compete at UFC 288 before an Oliveira injury caused the bout to be delayed.

The rest of the UFC 289 main card features three bouts that all have fight-of-the-night potential, with Canadian Welterweight prospect Mike Malott taking on Adam Fugitt, Featherweight bangers Dan Ige and Nate Landwehr clashing, and Canadian Middleweight Marc-Andre Barriault facing Eryk Anders.

The preliminary card has been affected by a few fight cancellations, but some intriguing bouts are still on the card. The featured prelim bout involves a fringe-ranked Middleweight contest between Nassoudine Imavov and Chris Curtis. Also on the prelims is an exciting Women’s Flyweight bout between highly-touted prospects Miranda Maverick and Jasmine Jasudavicius.

Other fighters in action include Canadians Aiemann Zahabi and Kyle Nelson, Blake Blder, David Dvorak, and the debuting Australian Flyweight prospect Stephen Erceg.
