Song was a step ahead of Gutierrez the entire fight, showcasing his powerful striking and well-rounded grappling. In his post-fight Octagon interview, Song Yadong called for an early 2024 matchup with former UFC Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan.

The opening fight of the UFC Vegas 83 main card featured a grappling-heavy win from Andre Muniz, who defeated Park Jun-yong via split decision.
