In the featured bout, Brendson Ribeiro stole the show with a brutal first-round knockout of Bruno Lopes to earn a UFC contract. Using his wild striking style, Ribeiro maintained his 100% finish rate with a vicious right hand and ground and pound that put Lopes to sleep.

The co-featured bout saw possibly one of the worst early stoppages in Dana White’s Contender Series history, with Serhiy Sidey scoring a first-round TKO victory despite his opponent Ramon Taveras clearly still defending himself. Nevertheless, Dana White still awarded Sidey his UFC contract and plans to give Taveras another shot on the Contender Series later this season.
In the opening bout of DWCS Season 7 Week 5, Brazilian Flyweight Dione Barbosa secured an impressive first-round armbar over the always-tough Rainn Guerrero. The better grappler with Olympic-level Judoka skills and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Barbosa controlled the fight on the ground, throwing up several submissions before locking in the finishing armbar to earn her UFC contract.

The other two contract winners were Dylan Budka and Jean Silva, who secured unanimous decision victories in their respective bouts. Budka’s short notice performance was enough to earn his contract, even with Dana White recognising that his fight against Chad Hanekom was possibly the worst in DWCS history.
