In the UFC Vegas 78 main event, perennial Brazilian contenders Vicente Luque and Rafael dos Anjos meet in a Welterweight contest. Luque returns to the Octagon for the first time since his brutal knockout loss to Geoff Neal in August, from which he suffered a brain hemorrhage. After being cleared by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Luque returns to the Octagon this weekend at UFC Vegas 78.

Across from Luque will be former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos, who will hope to move one step closer to a title shot in the Welterweight division. After losing his Lightweight title to Eddie Alvarez in 2016, dos Anjos has moved between the Lightweight and Welterweight divisions, facing a who’s who of contenders in both divisions. After moving back up to Welterweight in December, dos Anjos scored a submission victory over Bryan Barberena. He will hope to back that up against Luque.
UFC Vegas 78 also features a Featherweight matchup between perennial contender and UFC Hall of Famer Cub Swanson and highly-touted prospect Hakeem Dawodu. In his last bout, Swanson moved down to the Bantamweight division but suffered a TKO loss to Jonathan Martinez. He returns to the Featherweight division, looking for a late-career resurgence against Dawodu, who suffered a unanimous decision loss to Julian Erosa in his last bout.
