Headed by MMA Factory’s Fernand Lopez, head coach of the likes of Ciryl Gane, ARES Fighting Championship has established itself as the leading French MMA promotion and one of the best in Europe. After being postponed twice already, ARES FC 17 finally takes place this weekend, with another excellent showcase of European MMA.

The ARES FC 17 main event was expected to feature a Vacant ARES FC Welterweight Championship bout between undefeated prospects Baissangour Chamsoudinov and Felix Klinkhammer. At only 22 years of age, Chamsoudinov is one of France’s best prospects, having scored a knockout victory over UFC veteran Efrain Escudero in his last fight.
Klinkhammer has been impressive thus far in his career, with an undefeated record and all but one of his coming via finish. He also trains out of the acclaimed London Shootfighters gym. The ARES FC Welterweight Championship was previously held by Abdoul “Lazy King” Abdouraguimov, who recently vacated the belt following his move to PFL. However, ARES FC announced just over a day away from the event that the bout was cancelled due to weight-cutting issues.

The new ARES FC 17 main event features an Interim ARES FC Bantamweight Championship bout between French prospects Moustapha Aida and Aboubakar Younousov. Aida is the more experienced of the two men, with ten wins from twelve career fights. Younousov has been a pro for over a year, with three impressive victories in that time.
As always, the rest of the ARES FC 17 fight card features some of the best talent in French and European MMA. The card includes the likes of Xavier Lessou, Osman Minbatirov, Agy Sardari, Alexandra Tekenah, and Wissame Akhmouch.
